JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Hockeystick.co full-stack engineer, you'll touch all of our systems: server-side APIs, databases, and front-end apps. As a Rails developer, you’ll work on essential core components of our platform that are built using Ruby on Rails with high availability, high security, and reliable performance requirements.

EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience in developing, deploying and maintaining complex Rails projects greater than 3 years
  • You already worked on and with APIs (consuming and emitting), and integrations of third-party services (OAuth, Quickbooks, AngelList)
  • Ability to understand, display and even export data in common formats (CSV, XLS, PDF)
  • Meticulous knowledge of CSS 3, HTML 5 and Javascript (React a plus)
  • Familiarity with the common Ruby Gems and the Rails ecosystem
  • Expertise with SQL and PostgreSQL in production environments
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strong aptitude for testing. You discover there's a bug in your code and immediately think about Seppuku
  • Inordinate attention to detail; you are a perfectionist when it comes to dealing with our clients
  • Used to work in a small team and on solo projects

Data Engineer

Python, ETL, DevOps

As a Hockeystick.co data engineer, you'll touch our core systems: BI microservices, ETL jobs, and third-party integrations so expect some DevOps in the mix. We're a small team that’s growing fast and we’re looking for dedicated, smart engineers with experience and a passion for data privacy and security.

EXPERIENCE
  • Backend engineering experience greater that 3 years, with strong system and CS fundamentals
  • Expertise in building and maintaining reliable ETL and crawler jobs
  • Deep understanding of SQL and relational database schema design

  • Knowledge of Python in production environments and API development
  • Exposure to constructing taxonomies and ontologies a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for a talented, hands-on and highly-technical product manager to join our team. You will work directly with the company founders to realize the long-term vision of Hockeystick.

You will be responsible for developing product requirements and specs from your own research, interactions with our clients and partners and working with the engineering team. You should be comfortable with both Agile processes like developing user stories as well as writing detailed, comprehensive specifications that are the norm in the financial industry.

Some of your focus will be on developing intuitive user experiences and prototyping innovative ways to display and work with data. You don't need to be a designer but you should be able to develop detailed UI wireframes and information flows.

An excellent working knowledge of accounting and finance is a necessity to apply for this role. You should be an Excel master.

You'll be joining a highly-motivated, entrepreneurial team that loves what they do and loves to have fun. We take ping-pong, axe throwing and stand-up comedy very seriously and when we're not talking finance and data we're talking about food.

MUST HAVES
  • 3-5 years experience in software product management with a portfolio of products you can discuss
  • Ability to demonstrate PM artifacts such as documentation and specs
